ABOUT THE BOOK

The Rebel Loon Archive is a large hardcover art book featuring paintings, poetry, photography, textiles and more speaking out against the 2026 ICE occupation (“Operation Metro Surge”) of Minnesota. More than 280 artists from Minnesota, across the United States, and the other side of the globe are included in this volume.

The physical book measures 8.5x11” with a velvety soft-touch hardcover, with decorative headbands as part of the book’s binding, and thick satin-finish paper lets the artwork shine. We expect the final page count to be close to 240.

Preview images are mockups of the cover and interior pages, and do not exactly represent the finished product.

KICKSTARTER

The Kickstarter campaign to publish this book ended on July 1, and raised more than 1300% of the funding goal!

  • A pack of protest art stickers,

  • A bookmark designed by two artists specifically for this project,

  • Three protest art postcards,

  • And an 8x10" giclée print of the cover art.

ABOUT THE REBEL LOON ARCHIVE

In January 2026, the Rebel Loon Archive began as an informal collection of art responding to Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota.

This book was originally intended to be a short booklet of poetry and art, sold locally to encourage those directly affected by ICE’s actions, with any profits going to mutual aid.

What started as a casual call to local artists quickly expanded. From across the United States and around the world, more than 450 artists so far have chosen to contribute their work to the Archive. The art in this book is a curated selection from more than a
thousand artworks entrusted to the Rebel Loon Archive’s collection.

No collection of art can fully represent what it meant—and means—to live through these events. This book is and will always be incomplete. But the Rebel Loon Archive brings together the voices of children, local artists, international contributors, Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonists, and artists sharing their art for the first time.

Net proceeds from the sales of this book will support the Immigrant Defense Network, a coalition of 100+ organizations that provide help of all kinds to immigrants in Minnesota and throughout the Midwest.

PREORDER LOGISTICS

Design: Lagging design work can stall a project. However, all artwork included in the book has been finalized, and the professional graphic design team is in the process of finishing the layout.

Printing: We chose our (US-based) book printer because of their high quality, reasonable costs, and speedy turnaround times. Instead of waiting 8+ weeks for printing, our orders will be fulfilled in approximately two weeks.

Shipping: Campaigns often experience delays due to slow international cargo-boat shipping. Instead of outsourcing our book printing to the cheapest offer, we are committed to keeping our business within the US. This allows quicker communication and speedy delivery.
